Not Your Publicist was founded by Sawyer Gilley in 2021 following a series of written articles she self-published about her own life and any celebrity she could get her hands on (Duncan Trussell, Mike Majlak). Needing to scrap together money after a failed first “big girl job,” she turned back to her craft and looked to Onlyfans as a way to monetize the articles. Her first subject back to writing was Stella Barey, whom she began assisting and managing for the years following. Since then, Sawyer has opened up periods of consulting and managing for various other clients including Chloe Cherry, Luna Sofia Miranda, Sotce, Djouliet Amara, Jane Wilde, and many others.
Before all of this, Sawyer received a degree from the University of California at Santa Cruz, where she studied sex work laws and pornography arts under the scope of cultural anthropology. Santa Cruz was the birthplace of Sawyer’s passion to destigmatize sex work in the world of Hollywood and media, and once she moved to Los Angeles, she got right to work. She believes the change begins behind the scenes, through forces such as agencies, brands, casting directors and other gatekeepers. She practices what she preaches by taking on clients with traditional (accepted) backgrounds such as acting, modeling, and comedy in conjunction with clients who have an active or past involvement in the porn, Onlyfans, or other sex work industries.
